The time is almost upon us for the all new 2015 C7 Z06s to begin rolling out of showrooms and start thundering down the streets of America. All of us at Corvette Online are anxiously awaiting their arrival and hoping for a chance to drive one of these new race bred machines.
Fuel consumption is rarely, if ever, a motivating factor in purchasing a high performance car, much less one that is boasting the performance statistics like that of the world’s super cars.
That being said, it is nice to know what to expect for budgeting your annual fuel cost if you plan to use it for a daily driver; or you need one last bullet point to convince your partner it’s a great idea.
When equipped with the eight-speed paddle-shifted transmission, the car is supposed to achieve 13 mpg around town and 23 on the highway, producing a combined average of 16 mpg. While this is a bit of a drop from the standard C7 Stignray, we have to remember one thing… this car is being propelled by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, that cranks out a whopping 650 hp and 650 lb-ft or torque!
Again, when comparing this to some of the exotics out there, it still maintains a better fuel rating and in some cases even outperforms cars that burn more fuel. Should we have the opportunity to test one of these awesome machines, we will make sure to update you with our findings.
Tell us if this is what you expected out of the Z06, or different, for better or for worse.
