If you were one of the people who were lucky enough to get their hands on a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, then you also missed out on the 650 hp 2015 Corvette Z06. Not that we feel all that bad about people stuck with “only”460 hp in their Corvettes, but it does pose a problem for people who may have stepped up to the supercharged Z06, if only they had the option.
Enter Livernois Motorsports, the Michigan-based tuner of all things automotive with the ability to transform a “regular” Corvette C7 into a vehicle that would put the Z06 to shame in a straight line.
Going for broke, the team at Livernois went straight for the Stage 3+ package, including CNC ported cylinder heads, a new camshaft, a DOD delete plate, stronger pushrods, dual valve springs, and a Street-Series stock-displacement small block. They then topped it all off with a Procharger D1SC supercharger, ARP longtube headers, and a catted X-pipe, which is all tied together with custom Livernois tuning.
The result took the Corvette’s baseline numbers from 485 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque at the wheels, to 719 hp and 636 lb-ft of torque on 93 octane fuel. With race fuel in the tank, the supercharged C7 belts out 752 hp and 657 lb-ft of torque to the wheels. Better yet, it looks like just any other plain-jane Corvette C7, allowing it to operate in stealth mode before shredding rubber and surprising others racers with 50-percent more power over stock. Z06 power minus Z06 looks, ain’t nothin’ wrong with that.
