For the first time ever, the NMRA and NMCA roll into Auto Club Dragway in Fontana California for their west coast event. While there won’t be many NMRA and NMCA east coast racers at this event, and it’s being ran under mainly PSCA rules, we look forward to a good race on this warm weekend. Stay tuned to Street Legal TV and Stang TV all weekend for coverage from Fontana.

During the Mickey Thompson Extreme Drag Radial's first round, #2 qualifier Terry Barkley would stage his car, but before the green light flashed the engine would die. Terry told us he just forgot about the nitrous that was turned on, and when he put the pedal to the floor to re-fire the engine we saw a large nitrous backfire that caused a lot of cosmetic damage to the '70 Nova.
Luckily for Terry he had a first round bye and because he staged his car he will still be in the second round.
Saturday's crowd wasn't what they had hoped for, but the fans have really piled in for Sunday's elimination rounds
Centerforce Hot Street Round one put on a great matchup between the #2 and #3 qualifiers Anthony Valentino and Victor Brum. Valentino in his '90 Mustang bested the Chevelle running a 8.449 at 159.42mph versus 8.526 at 158.61
Hot Street #1 qualifier Daniel Bott II nearly backed up his qualifying run in the first round of eliminations. He would post a 8.430 at 160.23 mph

In the Ford Racing Mustang Madness Finals Scott Dool and his '90 mustang would best Cal Gordon. He did it by almost matching his dial in time.

In the Centerforce Hot Street finals Daniel Bott II who is shown here laying down his burnout, was pitted against Anthony Valentino and his '90 Mustang
Bott and his '98 Mustang would best Valentino by posting a 8.399 at 162.16 mph versus Valentino's 8.455 at 160.38 mph
The wild street competition finals would see Ryan Jones win in his '65 Nova when Armen Maghdessian's car would backfire and shutoff once both cars had staged

A complete shocker would occur in the Mickey Thompson extreme drag radial finals. Sandi Wold and her '00 Mustang was the car to beat all weekend, breaking into the 7's on many occasions
As Terry Barkely staged his '70 Nova the engine died once again. He refired the engine, and then after a few seconds his green light came on. Sandi had not staged the Mustang in the 7 seconds that they are allowed. Terry's Nova who ran a 12.218 at 107.27mph was the winner
Barkley's crew was a little confused about what happened, but once they got the official word they celebrated
