PRI 2011: Flowmaster Backs NMCA on West Coast Series; Drag Mufflers

Last year we saw the NMCA kick off their first west coast race at our local Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, Ca.  With everything from drag racing, to autocross, and even a brake stop challenge, it was one of the funniest NMCA/NMRA races we have ever attended.

Back in full force for 2012, with the help from Flowmaster Mufflers, is the NMCA’s West Coast Racing Series. With four races on the schedule for 2012, the NMCA will have three stops in California and one in Arizona. “Flowmaster is excited to become the title sponsor of the NMCA WEST Street Car series for the next two years,” stated Nate Shelton, chief marketing officer of B&M Racing & Performance that includes Flowmaster, Inc. “The NMCA WEST Street Car Series sponsorship just seemed like a natural for our brands to further enhance our connection with racers, both those who know Flowmaster and those who need to learn about what we offer.”

Auto Club Dragway – Fontana, CA – Apr. 20-22, 2012
Famoso Dragway – Bakersfield, CA – June 22-24, 2012
Speed World Dragway – Phoenix, AZ – Sept. 28-30, 2012
Auto Club Dragway – Fontana, CA – Oct. 19-21, 2012

For those of you saying, “Well that’s awesome, I need to get my race car ready for the first race in April,” then Flowmaster is here to keep you legal while running down the drag strip.  Since the NMCA West is a street car-based series, that means every car will need mufflers to race legally. With nearly a dozen different race mufflers on tap, Flowmaster can help reduce decibels while not sacrificing horsepower.

For example, Flowmaster’s Outlaw Series muffler is their smallest and lightest race mufflers to date, and when attached directly to the collector, generally produces more power than open headers while taking the edge off that open header sound. These race mufflers are designed to be used at race tracks requiring mufflers, but without dB restrictions. Available in two compact lengths and tubing diameter sizes including 3.00”, 3.50”, 4.00” and 5.00”.
