We designed an all inclusive kit that met with our quality standards and was affordable for the budget minded car builders.
We caught up with Casey Burnett, Technical Representative for March Performance, and he showed us their new Chevy Small Block Serpentine kit. “We took a look around and everyone offers a high end serpentine belt drive kit but no body was providing an economically priced kit with quality components,” said Burnett, adding “we designed an all inclusive kit that met with our quality standards and was affordable for the budget minded car builders.”
All-inclusive is an understatement with this kit. We took a look at the complete works and saw that every aspect was covered, and not with cobbled together components from the parts bin but completely new designed and manufactured parts by March Performance.
The kit includes a 105 amp alternator with alternator pulley and fan, a Sanden Air Conditioner pump, a water pump and pulley, crankshaft pulley and a power steering kit. Complete this with March Performance brackets and mounting hardware, it’s a complete kit that you simply pull out of the box, install and start the car up. Nothing else is needed and you get to keep some of your hard earned money yet have the look and performance of a serpentine drive kit.
Burnett told us that top brand name components like Powermaster, Sanden and Edelbrock are used in the kit. While the kit may be marketed for the budget builders, there is no scrimping on quality. The kit’s March Performance brackets are made out of the same solid billet 6061-T6 as their premium kits, and are available in either a black or silver face plate. The kit is available with either a long style water pump or short style water pump.
We don’t know if this will fit in your Christmas stocking, but SBC fans will certainly want to put it on their wish list.
