Your car is stout looking. What is the best that it's run before your new engine?
ANY mini tubbed Mustang requires moving the shocks inboard of the frame rail, which by most sanctioning body's rules is considered "semi-stock" suspension. Even though I will run coilovers any place they are legal, I also have the Wolfe Racecraft spring mounts that recess into the outside of the frame rail and the matching springs and offset spring perch lower control arms. Any track or race that doesn't allow coilovers, I simply remove the spring from the coilover and use it as a shock only, and throw the Hal springs on the lower control arms. The car still has (and will continue to have) it's original factory upper and lower control arm attachment points.

As for how fast the car has been, Indy at the WFCX was the car's only quarter mile outing with the aluminum 400cid Brodix Neal headed 106mm turbo engine. They ran drag radial with it there. The car never made a clean pass, but went an 8 teen at 188mph. Dennis and Derrick (Bailey) never really had the time to sort the car out. It eventually went some low 5's at 159mph on a 325 8th mile (yes, 159mph, thats not a typo). However, Derrick just told me tonight he didn't think they put much more than 20 passes on the car the whole time they owned it. They sold the coupe to put focus back on their 10.5W car which is probably the most insane 10.5 car ever built. Here's a shot taken at Skinny Kid's a few weeks ago:

And here's a shot after they got it back to Mississippi From Skinny's:

I'm sure nobody could say for sure, but I'm betting this will be the first 10.5 car to break 240mph. Makes my little coupe look like a tinker toy doesn't it?

It (the teal coupe) will never see another 2000hp engine while I own it. I simply don't have that kind of budget to work with. However, if today's dyno performance by my partners car is any indication, the teal coupe won't be slow by any stretch. The engine combination in their 91GT is very close to identical to mine, but I have a little bigger turbo and a few less cubes. My partner's 91GT made 1331hp this afternoon on BB&T Racing's Mustang (brand) chassis dyno with 15 degrees of timing at max boost with a 91mm G trim Precision turbo. With any luck, mine should make as much if not a bit more.

When we get back from St. Louis the thrash will be on to get the car running and tuned by Corral Day in Bowling Green the first weekend of June. That will be the first time the car will see any testing if we can get it together by then. I'm hopeful the car will be 7 second capable.
