NMCA Atco - Friday Coverage
The only thing stickier than the track in Atco New Jersey today, was the hot and humid air. Not hot enough to stop first round qualifying from going down to open the event.
Co-pilot with attitude for this Hemi
Tony Nesbitt and his crew put Jarod and Subway to shame by putting their C5 Corvette on a serious diet. New doors a front clip and “some chassis mods” took a total of 380 lbs off the Vette.
Vinny DeMieri brought a fresh engine out, after putting three years of abuse on their previous one. To keep it together, they completely replaced their Nitrous solenoids, after discovering their old ones were not holding open as well as they thought, and causing some of their engine grief.
Dave Laurer showed up at Atco in his 98 Mustang 10.5 Super Street, featuring a new powertrain. After having to many failures with a blower and needing some serious changes he choose the twin turbo path.
After turning his new billet engine into a door stop, Keith Neal pieced together a new engine. The alleged culprit for the carnage was a faulty computer, so they changed up to Accel in an attempt to preserve the new engine.
Ann Erb brought out her mean green AMX at Atco. Racing in the Pro Stock class she had to loose the wheelie bars this weekend and learn to keep the nose on the ground with some right foot modulation.
