When the event was all wrapped up the track held a test session for a couple of hours. Several cars participated including Vinny D'emieri, Tony Ridenour, Troy Pirez and Dan Stevenson.
The Pro Modified/ADRL car driven by Dan Stevenson was still having trouble getting down the track. Several Drag Radial cars also made some test tuns.
Both Josh Klugger and Kevin Fiscus took turns in the seat of Kluggers car, one of which resulted in this. The other was a mid 4.6 pass. I wouldnt want to point any fingers.
The Fast Forward Racing Engines crew will be a little busier this week after haveing some bad luck during the session. Tony Ridenour burned a head gasket, which resulted in a little bit of flame out of #1, that resulted in super heating the fuel cell which burst and sent some flames in and around the car. No injuries occured in the small fire, a good thing.
In a mix of good and bad earlier Tony ran a stellar 4.09 330' setting the fronts down right at the clocks after a quick pedal job to get it down.
A rocker stud pulled out in Erwin Rackleys ride. I'll be updating on their progress later this week.
This fresh car out of the Pro Fab shop is being driven by Troy Pirez Jr. So far 5.60's is where they are at on the fist day. They stood it up once so the traction part is figured out. I'll have a full feature upcoming on this car soon as well.
Sr. also brought out the white car for some testing on 275's, which didnt go so well and resulted in tire shake. Troy runs a mill for Scotty's Racing Technology in Spring Hill FL. Video of this and several other runs coming later.
Pat Musi was on hand helping out the D'emieri crew. Now I know Pat told me the number but I am not sure right now what it was. I do know he was happy and it looked very good. They should be ready for the NMCA season opener in March. This pass was at NMCA weight, just so you know.
The TRZ Motorsports crew also had a good session with Hatley, Kenward and Collins going in the 5.20's and Bruce Roberts running a 5.17 @ 135. All passes at weight and tune for the upcoming ORTC race in Georgia at the end of February.
From left to right, Bruce Roberts, Eric Kenward, Kirk Hatley, Attilio Derosa, Todd Brash and Kevin Smith.
