| The new InterActive Torque Management transfer case is a compact and efficient unit that combines on-demand AWD with an on-demand front-axle disconnect, which improves fuel economy by disengaging the front axle when it's not required.
The new transfer case boasts improvements to noise, vibration and harshness (NVH), and utilizes software that's designed to work in sync with other vehicle components as it switches from rear drive to all wheel drive as needed. It will replace Chrysler's current AWD system, which utilizes a permanent torque split between the front and rear wheels. |
