Dart released their new budget block named the SHP earlier this year. It combines their race block technology in a lighter, budget iron casting. To compliment the SHP blocks, Dart offers the SHP line in a 372 and 400 cubic inch short block. The internals come as a cast/I Beam combination and is also offered in a upgraded Forged/H Beam setup.
To compliment the SHP short blocks, Dart offers their top end kits; compression ratio is determined through the combustion chamber selection on the heads. On the 400 cubic inch, 72 CC will yield 10:1, on the 64 CC head you will see 10.7:1 and the 49 CC is perfect for a dirt car combination at a 13:1 compression ratio. While offered in iron or aluminum, the 180-200 CC top end kits come with a dual plane intake manifold and 215 CC and up are offered in a single plane. The rest of the top end kit comes with valve covers, gaskets, and fasteners. Dart has recorded 525 horsepower on their standard 400 cubic inch short block with a moderate cam and 64 CC head.
