NMCA Florida 08 - Saturday Coverage
Saturday at NMCA Florida means qualifying is upon us. Temperature remained the same as we look towards three rounds of qualifying. We also will be bringing you the top news as the heads up cars run through today.

Team Budano is getting ready for qualifying Saturday morning, checking spring pressures and installing fresh plugs. They are currently running last years engine and plan a new bullet very soon. It's scary that they are planning on installing a fresh engine based on what did they with last year's power.

Bob Kurgen can do more than Ford's! As one of the leading tuners in the NMCA, he can always be asked to lend a hand. Here he puts a fresh tune what looks like Bob Curran's Xtreme Street Corvette. We're not totally sure but we'll make sure to feed you the cheese on this soon.

Florida racer Erik Kenward adjusts the MSD ignition in his Car Craft Street Race Malibu wagon. We brought you some killer pic's of Kenward's wagon yesterday. Rumor has it that he put the Malibu on the bumper in the last few weeks. Don't discount the ugly exterior, this thing is a total street racer and is built to rock.

Bill Trovato made the trip down to Florida bringing his Xtreme Street olds powerd Starfire for the NMCA kickoff here in Bradenton. Controversy has always seemed to follow the Starfire as it has previously run such an odd ball combination that none of the racers or even tech staff were up to speed yet on how to regulate it. But Trovato's been running great, even though we feel like we are in 1970 every time we check it out.

Frank Meshaw went bust with a weight reduction program over the winter break, installing a new fiberglass nose and doors. Apparently he hasn't gotten around to actually painting it yet. We've always said Meshaw had the potential to put a hurting on the Super Street class if we could get to wait and get the chassis sorted out. Will this be his year?

Bring you Round 1 Qualifying Class by Class notes shortly.
