The "should-have-been" finals just happened in Round 2 of NPS with Jim Widener clashing with Jeff Colletta, the #8 qualifier but former NMCA NPS Champion from 2007. Jim did his job on the tree with a .027 to Colletta's .070, and then out running him with a 7.48 at 183.52 mph. Colletta's monster 191.92 mph couldn't run down the tree advantage.
Pro Street Round 2 Eliminations
• Tony Bischoff is gone, at the hands of #4 qualifier Jarod Wenrick who used every bit of his 6.34 at 225.54 mph run to dispatch the #4 qualified Bischoff's nitrous-aided Big Block. Given Wenrick's 233.03 mph in a previous run, he may be the most powerful man in Pro Street.
• Micke, Steve King, and Budano also advanced lining up some stout quarter final match ups.
