• Although we wouldn't really call Coble beating Kurgan an upset by virtual of his better qualifying position, it really did seem like it was Bob's year. Coble ran a 8.06 at 177.23 mph to defeat Kurgan who had problems off the starting line.
• A true upset however WAS fellow NMRA driver Zoop defeating Danny Shemwell. Shemwell had issues in the right lane and lifted at half track, as Zellonis won his round with a 8.09 at 170.
