Pro Stock Round 2
• Jeff Chandler and his orange Mustang are going rounds, as he took our David Murray in his SN95 with a 8.73 by virtue of a .010 reaction time and Murray's red light.
• Andy Schmidt got a bye run and ran 8.69 when #2 qualifier Bruce Maichle also broke. Between Kemp and Maichle, it's been a war of attrition.
• Butch Kemp and his 8.45 are out of the show, and we were wrong in Round 1 when we said he got a bye. Rumor is out there that he broke the engine or a lifter - we'll find out for sure soon.
• SAM school with a single, marching on. It's all Mustangs at this point.
Street Race Round 2
• Macaluso rips another 8-second run, 8.96, with a pretty solid 1.44 60-foot, to defeat Edwards who was broken. Fratena stepped it up a bit with a 9.18 but he is having major chassis problems and can't get the car to 60-foot.
Pro Street Round 3
• Anti-climatic action in Pro Street when Budano drops the hammer on Steve King who just can't keep up pace with Budano's consistent 6.30s and .20s. It just seems like King can run the e.t. but can't do it consistently. That will put Budano in the finals against Mark Micke who ran a stellar 6.33 to defeat Wenrick in the semi's.
Shafiroff is getting it done with his monster nitrous big block against all of these blown engines..!
