Kevin Parent's stellar 7.61 @ 181.30 didn't matter when Jim Widener broke on the starting line, as he left a significant amount of fluid on the ground indicating an engine or transmission said good bye. Parent is your surprise winner and proof why there is a finish line at the end of the track and not at the start.
Xtreme Street
Leaving the best for last, Coble dropped a 7-second bomb on Aaron Stapleton and there was no looking back for the New Edge, BBC equipped Mustang - 7.96 @ 177.32 vs. Stapleton's 170.73 mph 8.25 run.
Pro Stock
Andy Schmidt comes back from his wreck to win Pro Stock over Jeff Chandler! 8.65 @ 157.17 along with an unbelievable .015 reaction time did the work against Chandler who ran a 8.70 @ 156.70 along with his .029 r/t.
Street Race
Hendricks and Macaluso left together, but Mac's better e.t. carried the day as Hendricks lifted before half track, a losing 12.91 @ 70.2 mph to a Mac's 8.98 @ 154.32. This is going to be a LONG year for the Street Race entrants if Macaluso can keep this up.
Mean Street
Jeff Swason (.049 - 10.07 @ 133.03) defeated Jeremy Gillam (.080 - 10.08 at 133.92) in a very close race. Total winning margin was only .04 seconds. The difference was all 60-foot, as Swanson went a 1.36, over tenth better than Gillam's 1.49. Gillam's machine either seems to want to stand up or spin.
