Blair Brannock Gets Ready for True Street at Z Max
The Tremec True Street class is held at both the NMRA and NMCA events and is arguably one of the most popular classes around, with over 100 entries at the NMRA Bradenton event. Blair Brannock was runner up at both the NMRA and NMCA Bradenton events, coming in second to Chris Escobar, who is still undefeated in NMRA competition. After the NMRA race, Blair and Troy Fedora from Rock Star Performance made some changes to the car in an effort to run quicker at the NMCA, and they did with a pass of 161 MPH. Though Blair’s efforts were dashed when one of the hoses came loose and the car lost boost on subsequent runs.
The car was featured in the August 09 issue Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords.
Well they have been at it again and have stepped up the turbo, added an AMS 1000 electronic boost controller, as well as some other changes. They got the car track worthy on Wednesday to make some shakedown hits and ran a best of 5.88 @ 122. Blair logged the runs and Job Spetter from Turbo People looked everything over afterwards, and the decision was made the car needed some more time on the dyno.
I went with Blair down to Ford Speed Racing for the session on Thursday. Once there he got everything hooked up so Job could make the changes remotely on the lap top, while Rob Wells strapped down the car. After four pulls everything was set and the power came out to 1093 RWHP, which should be enough to propel the car to 170 MPH or so at the track. The next race for us is the NMCA/NMRA All Star race at Z Max on July 6-9th where they plan to run the class 4 wide for the first ever 4 wide racing in full competition.
