Dart New Release
Dart is ramping up performance on the new Special High Performance small block.
Aimed squarely at the heart of the high performance scene, the SHP small block fills the need for an affordable, high quality cast iron block with performance features that aren't available in any production casting!
Made in the USA on all-new tooling, the SHP block eliminates the time and expense of rebuilding a junkyard core or spending big bucks for a factory heavy duty casting.
The Dart SHP block is designed for hot-rodders, bracket racers, restricted oval track classes, off-roaders and high performance boats.
All SHP blocks have siamesed cylinders with a .230" minimum wall thickness at 4.165" bore diameter.
The SHP block will easliy support 600 horsepower with a true priority main oiling system, ductile iron main bearing caps (with splayed four bolt caps on the center mains), .625" thick decks with blind head bolt holes, and clearance for long-stroke crankshafts. The decks are even and parallel, and the lifter bores, camshaft and main bearing tunnels are finish machined - just hone the cylinders for piston clearance and assemble!
Dart also offers SHP short block assemblies in 372ci (4.125" bore and 3.48"stroke) and 400ci (4.125" bore and 3.75" stroke) combinations.
Dart top end kits - Cylinder head assemblies, intake manifold, valve covers, fasteners, gaskets and spark plugs, are also available from the Special High Performance group. These pre-engineered, dyno-developed packages are a real alternative to OEM crate motors for enthusiasts, speed shops and engine builders alike!
