Dodge Challenger hop ups?

I have a 2008 Dodge Challenger automatic trans... I am looking to pick up it's 1/4 mile times, I do have headers and exhaust on the car now, also Toyo street slicks, cold air box... There is a "Puke Tank" I am hearing that will prevent the computer from retarding the timing and pulling power from the engine. It's on order now $165.00 I am not counting that to make a huge difference, if any at all. It's mainly for consistency. The car runs 13:30 E.T. in 95 degree Texas weather. I'm not that pleased with the performance so far, any other ideas other than a power chip?

Sounds like a fun car. What are your goals with the car? Street driven only? How wild do you want to get? You might want to consider a torque converter.

If you have all those mods and haven't done a tune yet, I'd say that's gotta be your next step. My Magnum picked up lots of power with just a cold air and a tune... almost 40 horsepower. You'd be fine with the Diablosport Predator and using one of their performance tunes built in to the programmer. If you want to take it a step further, I suggest a custom tune from good ole' dyno steve at RDP motorsports. That's what I'm running in mine and I'm very pleased.

If you're looking for performance off the line, I'd suggest a torque converter. One other thing I've been looking into is a TCM and fan control mod from GS Motorsports. It's basically a switch you install and when activated, it removes all transmission control management from the computer so you get power to the wheels allot faster. It also drops the temp in which your fans turn on giving you a quicker cool down. Allot of Mopar guys swear by this mod.

I would also think about getting a torque converter. Dollar for dollar, you should see and feel a dramatic difference. Also make sure you get a trans cooler too.

The Challenger is a sweet car. Good luck with all of your mods. Post some pics of the car when you can!

The torque converter is most definitely a good choice to go with. As DollaDollaBill says, Dollar for Dollar its a huge improvement.
