| | | funnycar from Italy Oh, oh, I know my previous post was wrong: sorry
I'm italian and interested in hot rodding and drag racing since 1964...long time ago!
I'm a freelance writer (we have now in Italy two Magazines dedicated to american cars) but I don't know a lot of things: my goal is to learn a new thing every day... that's the reason I'm here (in the cyberspace) with you.
Thank you to all!

I write about drag racing and history of american motorsports in general, like stock car racing and old cars "made in the US".

| | | Then it sounds like you came to the right site. How long have you been writing? Got any work online to take a look at? I'm new to the whole writing thing myself. You can check out some of my work on this site, let me know what you think. |

| | | Thanks "The New Guy"!
I'm writing since I was able to: different history to have it published, since five or six years, every 30 days, more or less.
Where can I find yours? I'm a newbie in your site and a littel bit "lost" by now...

| | | Welcome to the site. I would suggest taking a look at all the videos on the site. Get some pop corn, beer, wine whatever your preference and spend an hour or two watching all the video you can. Then start clicking on all links we have on the site. This goes for StangTV and LSXTV too. After you have done that, fly out here and go to a bunch of NMRA and NMCA races. By the time you have done all this you will be ready to tell every body you know how cool the Americans are and what neat cars they have.
No really, what kind of Drag racing goes on Italy? How about circle track racing? I know you have Ralley sport racing, bike racing and Formula racing. Tells us more about what goes on there, and The New Guy will tell you all about ours. |

| | | Thank you DollaDollaBill!
It'll be a long post...
Yes in Italy we have Rally racing and Formula One, but someone, like me and some friends of mine, are trying to introduce drag racing Street Legal type.
My personal start was in 1967 when I built a rear engined A/D (Firepower powered, 4 Weber) and orgenized the first drag race at Monza strip.
Again in 1983, again at Monza, with ex Untouchable, ex Sherbits jet-dragster (driven by Bruno Donati, italian-swedish) doing fireworks and exibitions.
I'm now trying to propose a Street Legal Rules to italian Racing Committee...
I was in Florida, this March: I knew Don "Big Daddy" Garlits and Frank Hawley, two very kind gentlemen who agreed to stay with me all the day long!!!!
So: drag racing in Italy is allways at the staging lanes, some Guys are bulding cars: Pontiac Firebird, 'Cudas and so on, on the first stage of development...
Can I get a question?
I know, reading NHRA Rulebook (I'm a member), there is a Street Legal Rules Supplement: in which way can I have a copy or where can I download a PDF file?
Like you can argue, I whatched a lot of videos, in the past, I've read a lot of books (my home is full of those "things"!): now I (and my friends) need to better know "the Rules".
Thank you again for your precious attention!
Franco

Franco | Franco, the Street Legal Rules supplement is really only designed to relate to test and tune type "street legal days". What are you specifically looking for related to the NHRA rule book? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
