Granatelli Motorsports has developed their “Coil-Near-Plug” High Performance Wires for the 2008 LS3 Corvette to be a more efficient replacement over OEM. One might ask why they should tamper with the masterpiece that GM has portrayed in the 08 Corvette. The answer is efficiency.
While being a direct OEM replacement part for the 08 LS3, the wires exceed OEM specifications and are OBD-II computer safe with 0-Ohm restriction. The “Coil-Near-Plug” high performance wires feature solid stainless connector cables with stainless snap lock spark plug connectors and a unique EMI/RMI protection ring. This is the only true solid stainless steel core wire that works with today’s computer dependant engine and all race cars.
Grantelli claims to performance results are that the power to the plug is increased 400% over stock and that mileage and throttle response are improved. The wires include high temperature silicone boots and 8-mm jacket with fiberglass-reinforced braids that resist temperatures up to 500-degrees(F). These wires are ideal to use with aftermarket headers and turbocharger systems.
Granatelli even has a US Patent on the unique method used to produced their ignition wires which result in extremely low resistance while maintaining a very high noise suppression. The outcome of this allows full electrical energy from the ignition source to the spark plug. This equates to increased horsepower, torque, and fuel economy.
