Just saying HI YALL
And yes I'm from Louisiana, born and raised here! I'm a rigwelder building a 1979 Z-28 for show and track. My project is still in the early stages, but have a solid car to work with. As of now a built ZZ4 all roller, all Comp Cam engine mated to a Muncie 4 Speed. Just thought I'd throw that in there in case some are interested. Glad to be here..... Thanks Kerney

Way cool. Curious about the muncie though. Close ratio gears? Where you going to run it?
I'd be interested in seeing pictures when your done.
Welcome to the site.

Thanks man!
Yeah, Bobby it's an M-21 I bought from a member of Nasty -Z , from Florida for $400. Can you believe that? Just this week I bought a 1979 8 1/2" posi for a mere $64!!! Those guys on that forum are great, they will help you any way they can. I bought a radiator support for $200. It's made up of guys trying to help other members fix their cars. Have pics of my project will post when I get a chance, thanks for the interest!...... Kerney

Nasty-Z is a good forum. I've been reading their stuff for a couple of years. Didn't really feel comfortable enough to register with them, and I should have. I remember doing research on rear ends about 4 years ago and their website helped me out a great deal. Really good reading and I am positive that we can get to that place with this forum as well. All it takes is guys like us to post our life lessons in auto maintenance.

Cool deal on the prices. It's hard to find bargains anymore. Being a welder, you are probably in a better position than most of us to fix some of the more difficult chassis and frame repairs.

Kerney welcome to the site. That year Z is really making a major come back. That's awesome that you've got a Muncie, we've got a sweet spot in our heart for gear banging...

You have any pictures of the project?

Those Z-28's are making a come back I have been noticing on Craigslist the price is creeping up around the 3 and 4 k mark for non Z models. They make a really nice project car. The best thing to is when you get a mullet and start wearing the bright color polo shirts and go around saying nanu nanu.
