When you’re in the oil business you have to be ready to put some engines through the paces testing your product. With all the varieties of oil on the market, there are plenty of claims of added horsepower by running a particular product in your engine. Lucas Oil is one of those companies in the market of providing oil and additives for the automotive industry and is working on new products constantly with the claims of less wear and increased performance. From the looks of some of their videos they are putting their own engines through the ringer to prove the quality of their products.

Tom Bogner is one of those who is doing in house testing for Lucas Oil and most recently he was putting his 515 cubic inch Chevrolet through the rigors on the dyno at Westech Performance Group. The big block Chevrolet makes 801 horsepower and 661lb-ft of torque inside a Sonny Leonard prepared Brodix block as well as using their heads and intake. It has fairly high compression at 12.8:1 with a Comp Cams solid roller with 278/286 degrees of duration at 0.050. MSD supplied a crank trigger setup which sends signal to a Digital 7 box. Hooker dyno headers with 18 inch collector extensions. The combination is fueled by a Holley 1050 Dominator carburetor through a Super Sucker 1 inch tapered carburetor spacer.
