Here's some food for thought - although I know some of you may be uninterested in politics and the state of our nation, you might be when it effects our lifestyle and car culture.
As we all know, the US economy is sinking like Leonardo DiCaprio in "Titanic." Although it might not seem so bad right now, our country could be in serious trouble, being in the most dire straight since The Great Depression. The worst news is: it is having a great effect on our hobby car market.
David Grainger, For Canwest News service writes, "During a boom, almost any old crock of a car becomes the apple of someone's eye. I remember the classic car frenzy of the 1990s when every old Mustang at a local wrecking yard seemed to disappear overnight as collectors and speculators raced to acquire them, even though they were stripped hulks that had sat in the back of the yard for decades. The recent boom in '60s and early-'70s muscle cars, fuelled by ridiculous prices at auctions, has created much the same phenomenon. Even poorly restored and miserably abused cars saw ridiculously high prices paid for their purchase."
It doesn't take a 4-year degree to put two and two together. With the economy dropping and prices inflating, most of our wallets seem pretty empty. Money goes to things of priority such as food, rent, rent, etc. Many people, to make ends meet, are getting rid of their projects - and even this is becoming difficult.
"Increasingly desperate owners in the United States are starting to dump their prized possessions onto a glutted market that has no more interest in paying their previous purchase prices than an average person has in cultivating a case of hives."
This adds to the heap of trouble. Anyways, to find out what you can do to possibly avoid the disaster,

What do you guys think? Is the muscle car marketed headed north or south?
