My Color Me Gone Is GONE !
Hello Friends:
I'm relatively new to this forum and don't want to come off as a Whinner but I can't get past this and was just wondering if anyone out there can help a fellow Motorhead get things back turned around again because I'm just going through the motions and of NO use to anyone !
You see friends one morning while I was delivering a car in the flatbed something caught my attention that made Me stop and back-up . anyway even with all the crap covering it and the years of growth I found a 1964 Dodge model 330 2dr sedan with a 6 cyl and a 3 on the tree !
Yes it was in terrible east coast condition but straight. and after many weekends of visits and a bottle of Austin Nicoles {Wild turkey} the Honest Truly Nice elderly gentlemen allowed Me the take His 1964 Dodge for a mere 200 dollars, and No the car was not road worthy and had not been in the DMV computer since 1981.
But because I had this Funny idea about Those Outrageously Cool NMCA Nostalgia events I got this idea to get back to Drag racing ! It didn't matter that They closed my Favorite Track, Dover dragstrip which was off Rt-22 in Dover New York, all I knew was that I had this perfect picture in my skull and that was the only focus I had so after working on customer Cars all day I would put the key in the door and go to work without any Interruptions and nearly 3 yrs later I rolled it out of the spray booth with Only the Race Motor and Driveline left the do but at least all the Trim was perfect and the Bumpers were on there way back from the Chrome shop.
Then one day My New Bride took ill with Cancer in her tubes and had to have everything removed so after she was released from the hospital I took her to my Dads house on the Coast of Maine so she could recoop. and after almost 3 weeks We returned Only to Find My 1964 Dodge Stolen !!!!
I have NOT SEEN MY DODGE SINCE And I've been everywhere ! Even to those Shops that ARE OPEN AT MIDNIGHT ? And as per the Norm the Local Police Ossifers are as Useless as Tit's on a Bull !
Can anyone ANYWHERE KINDLY HELP Me to find a Replacement ? BUT PLEASE PLEASE NO BARRETT-JACKASS COLLECTER CAR DEALERS ! You see folks since My wife is NO longer with Me I'm working with limited funds but promised Her I'd return to drag racing and get RE-involved with the wonderful people in our Great Sport/Hobby. So far the Car's I'm finding I will not be able to touch ? these are car's that were just a few years ago able to be had for a few hundred dollars But because of PURE GREED AND wall street investers those Same Rusted out Clunkers cannot be touched for under 4000.00 and some even more !
So friends it would appear My time has come and Gone and I missed the Train . I just don't have that kind of Capital for the initial Purchase, so before I even have a motor in the car were talkin the better part of almost 10 grand and I'm still paying off the Hospital for Christ sake. What I really want is to get My Hands around the THROAT OF THE LOWLIFE WHO WAS TO LAZY TO FIND HIS OWN DREAM CAR ? Thank you all for letting Me go on My Rant .

Black Wagon,
Welcome to the site, and thanks for joining. I'm really sorry to read your tale, but at the same time, it seems your car has brought you a tremendous amount of joy at the same time. This joy that your car brought you can NEVER be taken away.
Tell us about your new dream car. We'll see if we can help you find good platform to build something on.
And remember, what GOES around COMES around. The guy that jacked your ride will get his own sooner or later.

Ditto. Sorry to hear about your car. I hate thieves. I hope James is right and Karma catches up to those kind of people.
My advice would be to look for what will fit in you budget and do the best you can to get back on the track.
Good Luck and hope to hear that you found a way.

Sorry to hear that some whacked out, pinko commie pig stole your dream car. I will keep my eyes and ears open. If I see a car that is under a grand and is fairly clean I will let you know.

My Color Me Gone Is GONE !
Dear Guys : Please Let Me say thank you from My Heart ! Since my Blue Dodge 330 up and walked away I've sorta had the Wind kicked out of My sails ! but don't get Me wrong I didn't hide under a rock and cry myself to sleep it's just that I had this Picture in my head of exactly what I wanted to do and how I wanted to do it ! And then How Hard I wanted to Drive it {AT THE TRACK} at as many NMCA events as the God Lord and my cash would allow but it wasn't to Be, then a Good Friend named Pat stopped Buy the Shop one day and asked Me if I would Tow some Old Ugly wagon out of his Fathers Driveway before His Dad Told Him to Scram ! And thats how My Black 355 inch 1978 Malibu Wagon came to Be, you see it spent it's life as a Flower Car at a Funural Home so it was pretty clean to begin with But didn't have any of the Parts needed to go fast so slowly over the course of about a year I started collecting the part's I needed like the Rear and the HPM motorsports rear control arms and all the PST parts anyway when the 11:0 355 inch motor showed up I knew what had to happen for the exhaust because of that Huge Ugly Cross member so Out came the Plasma cutter AGAIN ! and when all was finished we managed to get a 2.50 inch Jet hot coated system tucked so nice that the only thing you could see was the Deep pan from the 700R4 and the Shine from the Hedman Headers . The Guys from FairBanks once again out did themselves with all the Best parts including a Brand New Street Lock Gold convertor that didn't put Me in the Poorhouse. But it was the Stealth Intake and Race preped Carb Shop 750 along with the Compcams Valvetrain that allowed the 3:73 reared wagon to make it's first shake down run into the mid 11s which was Not to bad for a depressed Dodge Guy . Anyway My Heart still pounds in my chest everytime I see an Old 64 330 sedan Not because I'm ready to kill somebody but rather jealous that I wasn't able to Finish the Picture I had in my head, What I really want to say is thank you ALL for allowing Me to Share My story with you. You have made Me open my eye's again to see that there are Good Guys out there who do care about the little guy.
