These are a few shots of my 93LX. I just bought this car rolling from Dennis Bailey of BB&T Racing in Southhaven MS. I was an Outlaw Drag Radial car with a Brodix Neal headed 400 cube aluminum block engine with a 106mm turbo. I'll be slowing down quite a bit, as I'm only putting in a 349 cube engine with TFS R heads, R302 block and a 94mm turbo. However, I'm hopeful it will still be 7 second capable. We shall see.

Hello there! Glad to have you on the site. So, you say you just got the 93LS huh? Any plans in the making for it?

Wow, did he deliver or did he deliver. That is a great looking Mustang. So are you looking to run it in NMCA or NMRA?

I'm pulling out the 8.8 and going in with a Strange back braced 9 inch (about an inch and half narrower than the old 8.8), and putting in a moly AJE K-member with 2" drop spindles, cartridge style KONI double adjustable struts, Skinny Kid fixed caster/camber plates, and AJE double adjustable lower control arms. I'll also be moving the shifter to the E-brake slot in the console, and mounting the AMS-1000 where the shifter is now, and moving the fire bottle behind the passenger seat. There will many other changes as well, but I'm thinking I'll do a "build" on the "Turbo Forums" (formerly turbomustangs.com) and cover all the changes there. I've already taken over 200 pictures of the progress so far and I don't even have the engine back yet. Precision doesn't seem to want to finish my turbo either, but that's a VERY sore subject.

Thanks for your interest,
Scott

I little of everything, ORSCA, a couple of NMRA events, lots of more local King of the Street events and drag radial events. With "semi-stock" rear suspension it's legal for quite a bit.

Scott other than the coil overs, what makes it modified stock suspension? Have you moved the control arm points?

Your car is stout looking. What is the best that it's run before your new engine?

ANY mini tubbed Mustang requires moving the shocks inboard of the frame rail, which by most sanctioning body's rules is considered "semi-stock" suspension. Even though I will run coilovers any place they are legal, I also have the Wolfe Racecraft spring mounts that recess into the outside of the frame rail and the matching springs and offset spring perch lower control arms. Any track or race that doesn't allow coilovers, I simply remove the spring from the coilover and use it as a shock only, and throw the Hal springs on the lower control arms. The car still has (and will continue to have) it's original factory upper and lower control arm attachment points.

As for how fast the car has been, Indy at the WFCX was the car's only quarter mile outing with the aluminum 400cid Brodix Neal headed 106mm turbo engine. They ran drag radial with it there. The car never made a clean pass, but went an 8 teen at 188mph. Dennis and Derrick (Bailey) never really had the time to sort the car out. It eventually went some low 5's at 159mph on a 325 8th mile (yes, 159mph, thats not a typo). However, Derrick just told me tonight he didn't think they put much more than 20 passes on the car the whole time they owned it. They sold the coupe to put focus back on their 10.5W car which is probably the most insane 10.5 car ever built. Here's a shot taken at Skinny Kid's a few weeks ago:

And here's a shot after they got it back to Mississippi From Skinny's:

I'm sure nobody could say for sure, but I'm betting this will be the first 10.5 car to break 240mph. Makes my little coupe look like a tinker toy doesn't it?

It (the teal coupe) will never see another 2000hp engine while I own it. I simply don't have that kind of budget to work with. However, if today's dyno performance by my partners car is any indication, the teal coupe won't be slow by any stretch. The engine combination in their 91GT is very close to identical to mine, but I have a little bigger turbo and a few less cubes. My partner's 91GT made 1331hp this afternoon on BB&T Racing's Mustang (brand) chassis dyno with 15 degrees of timing at max boost with a 91mm G trim Precision turbo. With any luck, mine should make as much if not a bit more.

When we get back from St. Louis the thrash will be on to get the car running and tuned by Corral Day in Bowling Green the first weekend of June. That will be the first time the car will see any testing if we can get it together by then. I'm hopeful the car will be 7 second capable.
