Walking around the pits on a Sunday morning and seeing trailers missing is not something you see a lot. This is the only race of the year that NMCA runs a Saturday Elimination Round, but due to the car count, its needed. With 160+ NMCA cars and 170+ NMRA cars, you have to manage your time well. First heads up cars down the street will be Nostalgia Pro Street and Xtreme Street. Noon will be the start of the pro cars concluding opening ceremonies.
The sky looks rain prone, but all the weather reports no rain until late tonight.
Tony Nesbitt overflow was puking oil on the track during Eliminations Round 2. Before it fired they were trying to soak up the oil. As it staged the track officials shut the car off. After debate they allowed Tony to break the beams and back the car up
Spiro Pappas stepped his game up during round 2 Eliminations with the fastest pass of the weekend in Super Street, 6.88 @ 205.
Furnace is running his first event in Nostalgia Pro Street and was qualified in the middle of the pack. He drilled Richart off the tree in Eliminations Round 2.
Bob Curran had a secret when he came to the line. One of his pistons had a hole in it. He was hoping that Tony Orts would break or red light. That was not the case as Orts on his third engine swap came up with the win.
Jeff Colletta and Butch Kemp were two guys that saved their cars in their solo eliminations run by breaking the beams and backing their cars out.
Jeremy Gillam told us yesterday that with his new transmission he was going to put the car on the bumper. Unfortunately for him it ended in wheel spin and Don Baskin took the win.
Mike Demayo has been having a good weekend. They have used the last few runs as test runs. “We have been trying stuff,” said Demayo. When I asked him to elaborate on what kind of stuff he responded “Lots of stuff.”
Tony Bischoff didn't get much sleep last night and has been sucking down Mountain Dew all day after having to replace the fuel system and put in a new piston. While he wasn't able to replace the torn up sleeve he is praying in his sleep that it will hold up.
Jeff Swanson went up against Don Baskin. Jeff has been fighting traction problems since the semis and played into finals were Jeff ran a slower 11.326 to Don Baskin’s 10.29. Don ran within .003 of semi final run.
Street Race Finals
Tim Hendricks .085 light killed John Macaluso’s .103. This led to Tim’s hole shot win of a 9.025 @ 152.61 to Macaluso’s 9.009 @ 132.99.

Andy Schmidt has been running like a true Pro Stock car all day. He has running with .02 since last night’s Saturday elimination round. The consistency paid out in the finals as Andy won with a 8.712 @ 157.10 to Mike DeMayo’s 8.737 @ 156.72. Though DeMayo killed the light with a .001 reaction time.
Xtreme Street
Tony Orts has been battling engine problems all weekend. They had done three motor swaps within a 24-hour period. Tony was also a tree killer today with a James Bond reaction time. This lead to his hole shot win of a 8.260 @ 166.01 to Kurgan’s 8.202 @ 171.36

Super Street
Tony Nesbitt brought out his Super Street converted Corvette for the first time in Georgia last year. The car did not perform that great for the rest of the season. By Atco they lightened the car 300 pounds, which made a world of difference. Nesbitt has run the fastest ever for his Corvette this weekend. The car stayed very consistent for a Super Street car. He faced Spiro Pappas in the finals, who had gone consistently faster then Nesbitt. But the tune up in the finals was good enough to give Tony the 7.018 @ 201.07 win to Spiro’s 7.043 @ 205.29
Pro Street
With all the engine problems yesterday, Tony Bischoff only got one hour of sleep. I saw him walking the lanes before his run and it looked like he wanted to go to sleep. Regardless of how tired Tony was, he won on yet another hole shot victory. He beat Mark Mickie’s quicker 6.407 @ 218.19 with a 6.413 @ 220.86.
