ORSCA founder Johnny Fenn has joined forces with Vengeance Racing to bring together the newly slated “EFI Hot Street” class for 2009. It is designed for late model, street appearing cars that are budget built racecars. Limitations have an evenly set playing field for all types of combinations. Drag radials and D.O.T. approved tires are one of the major factors in the tricky equation. EFI tuning will be the key to success and winning rounds.
Only small block engines will be allowed with single power adder setups for Hot Street competition. Entrants must complete a 25 mile cruise on rural city streets that will have an escort. Any vehicle that is unable to complete or falls off pace will be disqualified. Drivers must retain all proper license and registration. Pre cruise inspections will verify for proper safety gear as well as the guidelines that the class is formed upon. All lights and signals must work and hood must stay closed after the cruise is complete.
Minimum weight including driver is 3300 pounds, with the small block engines with limitations of a maximum 427 cubic inches each competitor should have equal opportunity to make weight. Officials are pushing strictly for the street appearing look in this class. Hoods are limited to 4” cowls and no lexan will be allowed in place of glass. A quick look over the rules in the cylinder head and engine areas will show plenty of options for approved aftermarket pieces to run in your car. There will be plenty of limiting factors to keep the competition close. Real Street classes and such are growing fast and the ORSCA founders have adapted well. Hot Street should be packed full of excitement in 2009.
