Outlaw Radial Championships-Saturday

It's Saturday morning here at Bradenton for the Outlaw Radial Tire Championships and we are still haveing some very light rain on and off but the crew is drying things up and prepping the track for racing.

The racers are getting ready, warming the cars up and making preparation for todays racing.

There is a front moving through, though it's taking it's time doing so the one thing I can say is that when the weather clears we are going to have some great racing.

Word is the Scranton entry is likely to get the big DQ this morning. I'll have some info about all this from Matt and Jay coming soon.

The cars are getting the call to the lanes right now, Be back later...

In the boost vs no boost race it is David Wolfe and Will Stevenson for the boosted side, and Scott Bitzer and Haward Spires for the nitrous boys.

Will Stevenson

David Wolfe

First round saw David Wolfe take the holeshot win over Stevenson, 7.34 to Will's 7.33. Will's time at the 1/8 was 4.77

Scott Bitzer

Howard Spires

Both the nitrous cars had problems with Spires loosing traction and Bitzer popping and banging down the track.

The final is set for Wolfe vs Bitzer, waiting for them to come to the lanes now.

As I reported earlier there were some great saves and crashes today. One involved Dave Hance from New York Motorsports.

Tony Ridenour got loose and did an outstanding job of avoiding the car in the other lane. He did eventually graze the wall at the top end, though not enough to be concered about for racing.
Murphys law strikes again as the car was just repainted. He came back to run a 4.76 @ 162 to take the number one qualifying spot.

In Outlaw 10.5 Mike Stavrinos is looking strong with a 4.407 in round three qualifying, however he was nudged aside by .001 by Richard Sexton from the Mobley camp in the Fulton Powered GTO.

Saturday Night Happenings

Troy Pirez Jr. and the Ali Belford crew pulled an all nighter repairing a bad cylinder. They tore it down to replace a piston and got a replacement valve from Matt at H.P.S. Cylinder Heads in Tarpon Springs.

Ed Feaster had some bad luck breaking several rocker arms pulling out of the trailer Friday. He was hoping to make a hit but since all three rounds of qualifying was finished Saturday that wasn’t to be. He is installing the replacement set that was shipped to the track, to bad you can’t fax this stuff.

See that smoke under the chair ?? Believe it or not those are firecrackers going off and this guy is STILL sleeping. I though for sure I’d get a funny picture with him jumping out of his skin but after three tries we gave up.

Terrance Whalen shredded a ring gear during Qualifying Saturday and they made the repairs to get ready for Sunday eliminations.

Got Sumo ??

Amanda Long takes down BillyBob.

Guess the Coors Light got the best of him.
