Money, Money, Money, it's what makes the world go round. Funding a team out of pocket is a daunting task to say the least and usually will cause sacrifices to be made in order to stay within a tight budget constraint. Well luckily for Rickie Jones and crew, Elite Motorsports has stepped up to the plate as their primary sponsor for the 2010 season with their 2010 Pontiac GXP.
Details on the sponsorship were posted up at
Fastdoorslammers. For more info on the guys making this happen visit

As some of you know, Rickie Jones formerly drove his self-sponsored (
Quartermax) Dodge Stratus in the
NHRA Pro-Stock ranks as one of the youngest drivers in the series. Even though he is fairly new to the series being 2 years in, he managed to place 10th in the final standings this year and was also praised for his stellar reaction times all year. Quarter-max racing will still be on board as a partial sponsor. As mentioned, along with the new sponsorship comes a new car to be built by
RJ Race Cars and it will be powered by none other than a fresh motor from the newly announced Elite Motorsports engine program with famous engine builder Jimmy Oliver.
The Dodge Stratus That Rickie Jones Formerly Piloted
The new GXP is set to debut at the 50th Annual Kragen O’Reilly NHRA Winternationals. Rickie Jones went on to say, “I’m excited to be behind the wheel of the Elite Motorsports GXP, I know that Jimmy builds good horsepower and has a lot of proven knowledge and experience. Elite Performance is no doubt a good fit for our team. All of this is even more exciting because we get to debut at the 50th anniversary of the Winternationals. That will be a great moment for our team in a number of ways and something we all look forward to.”
