Yeah I know what you mean on the small block song

Years and years ago I was at T/K while they where testing the big bore lifters and rockers from Jessel. Had a destroked SBC and they just held it will over 10,000 RPM. I think they held it at 11k for a spell but the crank eventually let go and painted the wall of the dyno room with the engine internals

I wish I had a video camera way back then so I could have recorded that sound and the scattered remains afterwards

SBC Until I Die
It is a special feeling to see and hear a SBC past 9,800 rpm's. The link to my 68 RS Camaro is ( This is raw video look out)
Tony Biscoff owner BES told me Myles,"In bad air the car should run 9.00 flat and in good air it should run in the 8.90 range." Well Tony was correct about the car when we tested it based on the video.
Second pass, R/T .161, 60' 1.308 , 330 3.708, 1/8Th 5.731, MPH 121.21, 1000 7.486, 1/4 9.001 MPH 142.94
This pass was with a 2 speed w/1.76 first 4.88 Pro Gear STR of 8.5888 and timing set at 36
The current engine is a 408 SBC I have a new gear set for the glide ready to install look out 60' and 330'
A new crankshaft is on the way I need 420 cid for 1,000 HP look out

Tell me what you think

I've always loved the small block chevy motors. I run 'em to the brink and they just keep going. They may be too dumb to die.
I still love 'em though.

SBC in Pro Stock
I will be testing at Milan Drag Strip on May 9th 2008. I will post some new videos of my car. I launch at 6,600 -7,300 and shift at 8,800-9,400 top end rpm is 8,800 -9,000. From my point of view, BES SBC 408 2.21 per cubic inch you do the math of my HP and what my ET will be. I just put a three speed Coan Trans in the car 2.20,1.41 and 1to1. 12 bolt with a 4.88 Pro Gear. I am using a 7,300 PTC I might need to go with a higher stall if needed.
