Morning Update

Good morning everyone, were here at Raceway Park in Englishtown New Jersey at the make-up date of the 7th Annual Al-Anabi Racing Shakedown @ E-Town. After a quick ride around the pits you can see we have a lot of major players in all classes. Riding through the pits the racers are still unloading and heading over to tech.

David Hance the promoter of Shakedown has his twin turbo Mustang here with a for sale sign. It can be yours for 99K!

Kenny Doak also has his Camaro for sale.

It is still a bit cold as you can see with the frost on the windows.

John Langer and his NMCA Pro Stock machine is here ready to do some battle in the 8.50 class.

Andy Jensen is here with his small block single turbo combo looking to lay some numbers down.

I'm going to head back out to the pits. I'll be back after round 1 qualifying with those results.

Outlaw 8.50 Qualifying Sheet

Outlaw 8.50

Due to the extensive oil downs today they have decided to only run 2 qualifying sessions in all classes. Everyone needs to step up who isn't in the show yet!

All Qualify done except Outlaw 8.50

All qualifying has been finished other than Outlaw 8.50. Brad Brand went a 6.54 and ended up all the way in the sand. He is ok but it seems the car may not be able to race tomorrow.

Outlaw Drag Radial has a side money to be earned for the top E.T. of the event. Four competitors put up $2500 each for a total of 10K. Right now Dave Hance has the top spot with a 7.10 @223.

Pics are being uploaded right now. Once 8.50 finishes up I'll post the final qualifying sheets.

Here are some pics from the last qualifying session.

Outlaw 8.50 had 63 cars through the first round!.

Sunday Morning Update

Good Morning from Englishtown! Today's weather looks to be a very nice day with the temperature in the mid 60's. Shakedown continues today with eliminations. Yesterday's qualifying had a few oil downs that cut the qualifying to only two qualifying hits.

Outlaw Drag Radial has Dave Hance in the #1 spot with a 7.103 @217.88. Whoever gets the low ET in Drag Radial will walk away with another 10K. Dave Hance, Alex Vrettos, Paul Major, and Big Daddy put up $2500 each towards the low E.T.

Outlaw 10.5 Tim Lynch and Chuck Ulsch are very close in there qualifying efforts with a 6.400 and 6.415 respectively. Ulsch had a 6.40 bracket car yesterday and also taking top MPH with a 227.38. Jerry Mitrovic from Toronto Canada layed down a 6.519 to take the third spot. I'll have to swing by Brad Brand's pit to see if he will be out for eliminations today after he went into the sand trap last night in the last qualifier. He would be the #4 qualifier with a 6.547 @219.

Heavy Street saw 34 cars trying to get into the field of 32 and Gary Naughton taking the top spot with a 6.806 at 212.79.

Pro Outlaw Nitrous has a field of 15 and surprisingly Jim Halsey is #15. Steve Cossis in his 67 Camaro has the top spot at 6.232 at 225.

In the Outlaw 1/8 Challenge we have six cars competing for the Shakedown title in the first year of the Outlaw 1/8 mile Challenge sponsored by Barwa. Mike Janis is atop the field with a 3.826 at 192 MPH.

Pro Outlaw Blown sees Mr. Pontieri sitting atop the ladder with a 5.906 at 245.14. We have a full field of 16 ready to do battle today.

In Shakedown's largest class Outlaw 8.50 we saw 64 cars trying to qualify yesterday for the 32 car ladder. Mark Bowen from Stratford NJ has the top spot with an 8.504 at 154.

As you can see below they are drying the track in what hopes to be a great day of racing. See you all out there!

Question Sunday Morning Update

All drivers are headed to the lanes in a few minutes for a mandatory drivers meeting. In about 20 minutes cars can start the cars.

Here are some pictures from the pits as the cars start getting everything together.

Tim Lynch's car is for sale! Will we see the Vette next year?

After first round I'll be back with updates.
