Team Roush testing at Milan Dragway before the NMRA event
The Roush development team was out in full force Wednesday preparing for the upcoming NMRA event at Milan Dragway. The whole family was out testing.

Don Bowles Sr. reaping the benefits of a 37 year relationship with Jack Roush.

Sue McClenaghan was laying down some smokey burnouts with her father looking on. With Jack's busy schedule, these are pretty special moments for him.

Donnie Bowles was cutting some mean lights in his Open Comp Mustang.

Dale McClenaghan and Don Bowles lighting them up before some mock eliminations.

Their times were so close it looks more like a Heads Up run than an Open Comp race.

Sue McClenaghan and Donnie Bowles heat up the hides before their mock eliminations.

Donnie caught Sue at the end of this run.

Don Bowles wheelie is so big, I can barely see Dale in the other lane.

Jack and Don discussing the days runs and possible setups for the weekends racing.

You can count on seeing something cool and different when Don Bowles opens his hood. The NMRA puts on a great show. Don't miss this weekends NMRA event at Milan Dragway June 13-15.

Check under the hood of Don's car at the next race.
Don Bowles is pulling the current engine out and putting a used Roush/Yates cup motor in.

Don told me that he expected about the same E.T. The current motor is in the 850 hp area. The cup motor is around the same with a little less torque. The cost of the used engines are very reasonable considering the amount of research that goes into them. He said somewhere between 7-14 thousand.
The fact that Chevy and Dodge have potential Super Stock body styles coming out and also have Nascar engine programs, makes me think Don might be trying to get an affordable heads up racing program together. Maybe the Big three might get behind it.
