Mike Mislivec races a very impressive bright red 1982 Trans Am, and at a recent Milan No ET event the car was what the drag race crowd calls "HOOKIN"! Hookin' on a 10.5 inch tire!
For a little background on the car, Mike bought it bone stock back in 1986 and has done the majority of the fabrication and build work himself.

The car has been back-halved and the factory three link suspension was replaced with a ladder bar and coil over set-up. The Rear end is a Dana 60 with 4.10 Richmond street gears and a Strange spool. Moser 35 spline axles transmits the power to the rear tires. Wheels/tires are Centerline Convo-pros with 15x4 front wheels and 15x14 rear wheels. Front tires are Hoosier 26x4.5-15, and rear tires are 33x10.5-15.
The 3500 pound T/A is all steel with the rear wheel openings stretched to accommodate the 33" rear tires. A chromoly cage was installed for safety but all the original interior pieces are in place minus the rear seat.
Power comes from a 540 c.i. big block Chevrolet featuring a Mark IV Bowtie block, Callies 4.25" stroke crank, Lunati Pro Mod Billet rods, 8:1 Diamond pistons and a custom ground roller cam by Camshaft Innovations.
Sitting atop the big Chevy is a B&M blower set up for 9 lbs of max boost. Fuel flows via 2 Holley 900 double pumper carbs tricked-up by Gary Williams. The exhaust system includes custom made headers with 2.25" primaries and 4" collectors made by Gary Cook @ PF&E. Mufflers are 4" Flowmasters.
Shifts are handled by a homebuilt TH400 with straight cut gears and manual valve body with no trans brake. A 10" Coan torque converter handles the power output with Alto red clutches. The driveshaft is a 3" chromoly unit by Mark Williams with 1350 solid spicer u-joints.
