As someone who has gotten behind the wheel of both - I can say they are very different experiences. Drag Racing is a bigger "RUSH" put into a smaller amount of time, but with Circle Track racing, I think driver skill is a much bigger impact and you really feel you race yourself into the winner's circle even if the car isn't perfect.
As far as I stand, they are both great sports.

I started drag racing primarily because I couldn't ride BMX as fast as other guys, Football season was over my senior year and I was too small to play college ball. It was a way for me to compete and prove I got smarts and show my dad my car wasn't the POS he said it was when I bought it. Aside from street racing, racing at the track kept me out of trouble and met some great people. You don't have to have the fastest car to win.

That's funny Innovator, welcome to the site. I agree with everything you said, drag racing is sport where reaction time and car setup can beat $.

I drag race because my dad used to and we would always go to The Nationals at BIR as a family.I was hooked on it since the age of 6.Now that I have the money and experience to build my own car,it is a contest to see what I can do to improve my ET from the prior season.I love seeing other fast cars and drag racing folks are generally good people and fun to hang out with.I do enjoy all types of motorsports and have attended just about every type. From tractor pulls to rally races and even a powerboat race.Drag racing is still my favorite.

I have to say, few things battle the adrenaline rush you get in a circle track race. It's not as big of a "quick rush" as drag racing, but you really do get in that moment longer.

I am new to the board, and found this thread...... hhhmmmmm.... I Drag Race b/c I became bored watching my husband race. We had a Super Comp Camaro (67) (still have her). She was 1000 hp with a 1071 blower and he bracket raced it! LOL! Not too consistant, but fun. I was tired of watching, then he was building a Pro Mod....so I went in the Camaro.......
Had a blast in that car.ran high 8's low 9's. But I wanted more.......so......much to my husbands dismay, we now have a 2 car Pro Mod team! LOL!
He has a '53 Corvette, and I have a '63 Corvette......
I love the feeling of just you and the car....the rumble.....and then the quiet after you pull the chutes and kill the motor....nothing like it......
