If you’ve been missing the Dodge Viper for the last year, you don’t have to wait much longer for the next chapter in the Viper saga to begin. We found out through TopSpeed.com that the next generation Viper is alive and well and even headed to Florida next month for its big reveal at a charity event. From the rumors we’ve heard surrounding the new model, we’re sure it won’t be a disappointment.
The new Viper has been under raps by Dodge for awhile now. Set to hit the market in late 2012 as a 2013 model, few facts have been confirmed about the fifth generation sports car. If rumors are to be believed, however, future Viper owners can look forward to piloting around 700hp.
We know one thing for sure, the ‘13 Dodge Viper will be equipped with new technology. According to an April press release by Chrysler, the new Viper will sport stability control, something never seen on any of the past Viper models. Chrysler also confirmed their entry into the Super Car Olympics late next year with the redesigned Viper.
The debut of the ‘13 Viper will happen at the “Rides & Smiles” event at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in November. At this event, children with chronic illnesses will have a chance to ride around the 2.3-mile road course at Homestead in some of America’s top “dream cars.” One of those cars will be the new Viper.
We can’t think of any better way to debut the next generation Dodge. After all, the goal of the event is to put smiles on the faces of sick kids and their families and we know we’d sure have big grins on our faces if we got a ride in the future generation of the iconic American sports car.
