You’ve surely heard the plaintive argument before from those that simply don’t get it, “What’s the point of having such a fast car, if you can’t use it?” Well, it seems as though that’s really not a problem for enthusiasts in Qatar.
The lightly modified Camaro in the videos below sports a Texas-Speed 231/236 cam kit, Kooks long tubes, a Vararam cold air kit, SLP underdrive pulley and a 160 degree thermostat. The intake manifold, throttle body, H-pipe and cat back exhaust remain dead stock, according to the videographer.
In the dyno video, you’ll see the Bowtie push 455 RWHP and 426 RWTQ onto the rollers, after tuning by Hisham Almulla at QatarSpeed. A short road trip afterward (top video) shows exactly what that kind of power can get you if you have the room to stretch a little.
This could open up a whole new kind of auto-tourism!
