Promedia has officially released the NMCA Muscle car Nationals schedule for 2011 that will include some familiar favorites as well as some new events and venues in certain regions that should reach out to an even larger contingent of racers and fans for the new year. Among the changes include a new stop at Atlanta Dragway for the combined NMRA/NMCA All Star Nationals previously held at at the zMax Dragway in Charlotte. The series will also visit the popular Maryland International Raceway in June, Auto Club Speedway in California for a non-points event, Milan Dragway in August, and the World Street Finals and LSX Shootout will move to the fabled O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis. The Beech Bend event, plagued by rain nearly ever year, has also been moved to an early August date.

2011 Schedule Changes to Note:

The Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals combined event, which was formerly held at zMAX Dragway in NC, will move to Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA, the weekend of April 14-17, 2011. Atlanta Dragway is better suited for the All-Star Nationals where NMCA and NMRA can capitalize on Atlanta’s strong racer and fan base.

The NMCA’s northeast event will be moving from Maple Grove Raceway to MIR in 2011 with the 9th Annual NMCA Muscle Car Nationals bringing the best of muscle car drag racing to Maryland the weekend of June 3-5, 2011. This event will also feature the 3rd Annual shopHEMI.com Late-Model HEMI Shootout, the largest gathering of modern HEMI’s in the U.S.

Because of a move by NHRA with its national event schedule, the Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL, will be moving a few weeks earlier to the weekend of June 23-26, 2011. Cooler June weather will translate into awesome runs as NMCA takes on NMRA for the Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing title!

California fans get ready! The NMCA and NMRA will be hosting a special West Coast Shootout at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA, the weekend of July 8-10, 2011. Like the NMRA/NMCA Texas event in November, the West Coast Shootout will be the largest gathering of muscle cars in the Golden State. This non-points, limited classes event will showcase what the NMCA and NMRA have to offer to Pacific-are drag racers.

The 10th Annual FueLab NMCA World Street Finals is moving to O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, IN, the weekend of October 6-9, 2011. The NMCA World Street Finals will also feature the 5th Annual GM Performance Parts LSX Shootout, the largest LS event of the year.

The NMRA schedule for 2011 has also also been released with only minor changes that will see the series will compete alongside the NMCA at the All Star Nationals in Atlanta and the West Coast Shootout in Fontana, CA. The Milan Dragway stop, typically held in June, will move to a late July date.
