In December, we broke the news on England native Andy Frost’s mission to reclaim the street legal drag racing world with his familiar Red Victor 3 Vauxhall — a project that centers largely around an entirely new engine and driveline combination — as he sets his sights on the five-second zone with the car he can be seen regularly driving up and down the roads of his hometown of Wolverhampton, England.

Frost’s venture is, interestingly, a true international affair, as this time around he’s teamed with renowned engine builder Steve Morris — the engine builder and crew chief behind Drag week star Tom Bailey’s famed ’69 Camaro — to supply some of the components for the new mill that eventually be prepared and assembled by Marc Lamude. Morris has machined another of his spectacular all-billet intake manifolds for the new engine, along with an equally-impressive set of  custom billet value covers.

The engine you see the billet beauties on here is merely a “dummy” motor at Morris’ shop for mock-up and pictures, but they’ll eventually find their way onto the 540 cubic inch big block that Frost and Lamude have drawn plans up for. The twin-turbocharged powerplant will feature nothing but the best in components, including a Winberg billet crank, GRP aluminium rods, Diamond anodized pistons with DLC coated Trend pins, Total Seal M2 custom piston rings, Calico coated main and rod bearings, Cometic custom copper gaskets, a New Century gear drive and custom oil pan, a Morris/Bullet custom camshaft, and Jesel dog bone .937-inch lifters.

The cylinder heads will be Brodix PB2005 castings, CNC ported and finished by Curtis Boggs at Race Flow Developments, filled with Victory Performance DLC coated titanium valves, retainers and locks, along with Manton 7/16-inch straight pushrods, T+D custom shaft rockers, and PAC custom valve springs.

The oiling system will center on an Avaid four-stage dry sump with a Peterson Fluid Systems tank, with hoses and fittings from Goodridge UK and oil from Red Line.

The gorgeous intake, CNC machined from two chunks of billet, will be fitted with with twin 105mm Wilson throttle bodies with custom injectors. The motor will also feature Pantera EFI and Turbosmart Race Port Blowoff valves and twin 60mm wastegates, with air provided by twin Precision 98mm GEN2 Pro Mod turbos. And just for good measure, Andy will have a Wilson Manifolds fogger nitrous system on-hand just in case it’s needed.

Frost, who does all of his own transmission work, has assembled a killer new two-speed Turbo 400, housed in a Reid Racing aftermarket case and paired with a Browell bellhousing. Frost utilized a little technical input and a host of internal components from John Hutchinson of Hutch Transmissions for the assembly. The rest of the driveline will be comprised of a PST 3-3/4-inch 1480 carbon fiber driveshaft, a custom bolt-together converter, and a Precision Performance shifter.

Frost and company are still months away from completion of the project, which is being aided by friends and supporters from around the world all united in a quest to see the red rocket break some hearts more than 4,000 miles across the Atlantic.
