Cars are stolen all of the time, but they are usually more low-key sports cars like our beloved Mustang, or something a little inconspicuous like a Honda Civic so they don’t get caught driving it off in traffic. A more stealthy thief does their homework and goes for the gold, literally, hauling off all kinds of rare gems in trailers, and this can happen to anyone. Criminals make a full time job out of watching you and knowing when you’ll be home or not so they can steal your precious belongings.
In this case, the car missing is a very expensive and rare 1965 Shelby Cobra – a car that’s nearly irreplaceable if you have one in your possession. Between the hours of 11:30pm Thursday night and 5:30 am the next morning, the silver Cobra was stolen from a home in Picketts Valley (no pun intended) in New South Wales, Australia. The dash of course was signed by the man himself, Carroll Shelby, the auto legend and creator of these valued vehicles. The Cobra is very distinct with a silver base paint coat and black Le Mans stripes with the license plate reading BB 91 FY.
If anyone around the area has seen any activity that may be suspicious please report it to the Gosford Police or call Crime Stoppers with the information here. This car could be sentimentally priceless despite the wicked expensive amount that this car is worth. If it were yours, you’d want somebody to do the same thing. Hopefully it’s caught in time before it’s completely gone on a boat or chopped. We hope for the owner’s sake that it’s found soon.
