Our friends over at BringATrailer.com always having great listings, and they seem to pull them from all over the place. Some are their own internal listings, some are from Craigslist, and some are from eBay. This particular one really caught our eye as it’s the actual 1970 Barracuda GranCoupe that was used as the show car in the 1970 Geneva Auto Show.
There were three offerings of the Barracuda in 1970 with the base model being a regular Barracuda, the luxury model called the GranCoupe, and the hot rod ‘Cuda. According to BaT, this one was purchased locally in Geneva just after the show concluded, and it’s been there ever since. The original owner sold the car in 2004 to it’s current owner and it appears to have been pretty babied most of it’s life. It has 148,500 original KM’s (92,700 miles) and has had one re-paint prior to 1998.
The drivetrain is all original and is fairly tame. It has a 318 with an automatic, but since no details are listed on the rear end we’ll just have to assume it’s fairly tame as well. The interior is in all original condition, and is ALL blue!
Interestingly enough, it is a column shift car but has a rally cluster and woodgrain steering wheel. The owner does mention that new carpet may be in order at some point in the future. We definitely dig the Euro license plates on it, and there is no doubt that it must be the talk of the town in Switzerland when it rolls down the road.
