Engine tuning is often considered a black art, but thankfully there’s help from the companies producing the systems, like ACCEL Performance. Their DFI system is often considered the Godfather of aftermarket engine management systems and ushering in the current generation of automotive performance calibration capabilities.
The company is offering an ACCEL DFI EFI Tuning class coming up on October 10th and 11th in Warrenton, Missouri, near St. Louis. The class size is limited, and accommodations have been set up with discounted room rates for the first 20 paid attendees. Class length is two days, with the first spent in the classroom discussing theory and diving into the inner workings of the system’s capabilities.
Not only will you get the chance to rub elbows with other users of your engine management system and have the opportunity to learn from the designers of the product, there will also be a full second day spent dyno tuning that’s sponsored by Herzog Motor Sports, where there will be hands-on instruction.
The ACCEL folks will cater lunch on both days as well, while the hotel they’ve selected will provide breakfast; it’ll only be up to you to discover a local establishment for dinner.
The company’s GEN7 and Thruster EFI systems will be covered during the class sessions, giving users of both systems the opportunity to learn and digest the vast sums of information that will be presented. The overall goal is for the attendee to leave the class with a thorough understanding of what parameters the systems can control, why they do so, and how to make adjustments that will benefit the calibration.
