As a pop culture icon, the Ford Mustang has made many an appearance in Hollywood movies. For nearly 50 years now, the Mustang has been featured on the silver screen in all its iterations and forms, from the original fastback to the 80’s Fox-body. With so many movie Mustangs to pick from, it can be hard to narrow down just a few of our favorites.

Luckily for us, Complex.com put together a list of their 25 favorite movie Mustangs from the last 50 years. Did your favorite film make the cut?

Such a list is bound to draw criticism and opinions from the Mustang faithful, though there are a few must-haves on this list that nobody could disagree with. Then again, placing the yellow ‘71 Mustang from the original Gone In 60 Seconds movie at 24 is sure to raise some eyebrows. And we’re not sure how many Mustang enthusiasts ever even saw the Anne Hathaway flick “The Princess Diaries.”

Other notable movie Mustangs include the GT500 from I Am Legend, the soon-to-be-crushed Cobra from 2 Fast 2 Furious, Frankenstein’s badass Mustang from Death Race, and the futuristic Fox-body from Back To The Future 2. But what movie Mustang holds the top spot? Surprise surprise, it’s Steve McQueen’s green Bullitt that wins top honors (again.) We can’t say we disagree (who would) but we’d love to see a list that left out Bullitt for once.
