Not every child gets a chance to experience muscle cars and hot rods first hand. In fact, it is a downright bad idea to put a toddler behind the wheel of any automobile. Perhaps it is better that they get their taste for cool cars and automotive design through a toy first. With the holidays around the corner, perhaps a few car-themed toys for the junior gear head in your family is just the introduction they need.
Take a gander at Automoblox, which the guys at Autoblog uncovered. Turns out they have just added a hot rod model to their vast collection of interchangeable vehicles, just in time for the holidays.
Automoblox are some very nifty-looking toys. While certainly not the first interchangeable car toy on the market, Automoblox looks like the high-quality hardware. They come in two classes, mini (for the lil’ children) and full-size, for the older kids. Many of the parts are interchangeable with vehicles from the same class, and everything from wheels to front end to the roof can be changed around, encouraging creativity and learning. Sometimes, it is just more fun to take cars apart too, and it is essential to the identity of any real gear head.
The hot rods are available in three flavors, all borrowing from famous classics like the T-bucket, ’32 Ford, and other popular hot rod platforms. At $50 a pop, they aren’t exactly cheap, so building up a worthy collection might take some time (just like real life). If your little one seems like the practical type, maybe you’ll want to get them the truck and trailer to go along with their hot rod. It is a unique gift, and a great way to introduce your kids to a great American past time.
