As musclecar car enthusiasts, we get excited when we hear stories discussing a forgotten musclecar. Our friends over at CarsinBarns.com have made themselves famous for sharing these stories with us, and we’re happy to pass along the message.
Just the other day they’ve uploaded the latest Barn Find feature of a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda Gran Coupe. Essentially the luxury version of the non-performance model, this E-body was submitted by “John” and features a 383 4bbl. V8.
Being a previous owner of the car, he felt inclined to track it down to its current owner and attempt to strike up an offer. Since it’s actually sitting outside, this is probably better defined as a yard find, but it shares the same principal.
As of this writing, he’s met the owner, seen the car in person to take pictures of it, but somehow never popped the question of repurchasing it yet, strangely.
The current owner had it repainted Cherry Red (a very long time ago, apparently) and claims it’s original hue is Violet (code FC7). There isn’t any specifics about the interior or even what kind of transmission sits behind the big block, but we still think this car has loads of potential.
Despite the fact that it desperately needs a restoration, the good news is that it’s located in California, so there’s probably less rust than you would typically find on the same vehicle located in the Midwest. We’ll keep you posted if we hear anymore.
