For those of you that are powerTV regulars, you know that our garage is outfitted with all sorts of equipment from BendPak in the form of lifts, air compressors, tire changer and balance machines, and the like. They’ve outfitted our shop since the very beginning and just recently came in to help us with a huge upgrade. Their industrial shop equipment really lives up to the name “industrial,” as even we couldn’t break any of their stuff!

Their years of excellence in products and services are paying off, and not just for us. They just recently announced that after 3 years of planning, construction has begun  on an a state-of-the-art $65 million, mega-sized manufacturing facility that will nearly double the size of their current manufacturing and administrative capacity.

To say that it’s large is like saying Jumbo was just a tad “chubby.” The new plant will have a 480,000 square-foot footprint and will be built on a 15 acre plot of land. Plans are to have the new building completed by the end of summer.

“Where other companies in the industry are shrinking their capabilities to save money, we’ve got big plans for growth and expansion,” said Derek Taylor, BendPak’s Communications Director. “This secondary factory will help us keep pace with growing international demand for reasonably-priced, high-quality automotive service equipment.”

As just a little icing on the cake, even in this economy where it seems jobs are shipped beyond our borders on a regular basis, Bendpack is providing nearly 600 jobs to dedicated factory and administrative employees. We like the sound of that!
