Bill Goldberg’s Centerforce-Equipped TA to Take on Optima Challenge

Most of you know of William Scott “Bill” Goldberg because of his professional wrestling career. What many of you may not know, however, is that he is also a major gear-head. Knowing this, Optima Batteries contacted Goldberg last year to see if he’d be interested in doing some TV work for the 2010 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational (OUSCI). Not only did he jump at the opportunity, he also wanted to compete in the competition. The result is an extremely impressive Centerforce Clutches-equipped ‘70 Trans Am being previewed for the upcoming 2011 OUSCI event.

Looking to create the best street car competitor possible, Goldberg went to Detroit Speed for a complete hydra-formed sub-frame, coil-overs, tubular control arms, frame connectors, headers and bay bars, as well as a rear quadra-link, transmission cross-brace and wiper motor. Other well known companies stepped up to help Goldberg in his pursuit of the ultimate street car as well, such as BeCool Radiators, Baer Brakes, RideTech, Strange Engineering, HurstDriveline, Flowmaster, QuickTime, Forgeline, and of course, Optima Batteries.

Powering the impressive Trans Am is a custom dry sump LS7 engine pushing 636hp, created by NASCAR legends Steve Crisp, Ray Evernham and Papa Hendrick. The engine is matted to a Tremec T56 transmission that harnesses the LS7’s power with a new DYAD Twin Disc clutch from Centerforce Clutches. With Demented Customs pulling the whole build together, the Trans Am nicknamed ERNREE resulted.

More impressive than the car, however, is what Goldberg intends on doing with the Camaro. After it is completely finished, he will be handing it off to his wife Wanda. She in turn will be the one driving the beast at the upcoming OUSCI on November 5th.
