In the last couple years, we have seen some rather impressive performance cars come off the Cadillac assembly line. The company has proven that performance doesn’t have to be sacrificed when it comes to luxury vehicles. Recently, the latest luxury concept was released by Cadillac, sporting the name Ciel (C-L). Thanks to GM News for bringing us its debut.
The focus of the Ciel is luxury. Inspired by classic open-air touring cars, and the beauty of the California coastline, the Ciel offers passengers many amenities. Increased room, true leather seats, connectivity portals and even a cashmere blanket stowed away in a hidden compartment are creature comforts that are incorporated into the interior of the Ciel. Italian Olive wood is also prevalent in styling details. With a floating center console all the way through the center of the car, passengers can experience true personal space in the roomy interior. Sweeping body lines and nickel-plated trim flow from the inside out on the car, complimenting the Cabernet exterior and beige complimentary lower color.
With so much attention to style and luxury, one might think that performance was an afterthought on the Ciel. This, however, is not the case. The Cadillac is powered by a twin-turbo 3.6 liter Direct Injection V6 engine. It boasts a whopping 425hp with 430 pound-feet of torque. The car is also equipped with independent front and rear suspension, carbon ceramic brake rotors and 22-inch wheels.
While we don’t know when we’ll see more of the Ciel, or if it will ever make the transition from a concept to a production car, it is a treat to be able to see the latest luxury car from Cadillac. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for the Ciel and other Cadillac concept vehicles.
