Many of you reading this probably have fond memories of 1980’s G.I. Joe cartoons and toys. Hell, we know we do. This era of America’s most famous action figure featured the terrorist organization “Cobra,” a sort of catch-all for every stupid, impractical and impossible “terrorist” plot imaginable.
Remember when Cobra Commander tried to take over Alaska? Or how about when the terrorist organization ran a telethon? Ya.It seems like perhaps Cobra Commander “misappropriated” some of those funds to finance a little fun for himself, in the form of a custom Shelby Cobra kit car, as seen on Hooniverse.
It’s actually a Factory Five kit car here, and this brief video shows none other than Cobra Commander himself behind the wheel of this badass-looking automobile. What better car for a super villian than a Cobra, after all? As far as customizations go, the only standout we see is a Cobra decal on the hood.
Other than that, we don’t even get a chance to hear the car start, or Cobra Commander spout off some ridiculous order. The terrorist leader just…up and walks away. No threats? No pop-up machine guns? Kind of disappointing, but we’re sure he has important “work” to do. Too bad they never made a Cobra Commander Shelby back when we still played with plastic toys. We guess the ol’ Commander finally grew up, eh?
