The 2012 BOSS Mustang is one badass machine, evoking the spiriting of the original 1969-70 BOSS Mustang. However, it will be available in extremely limited numbers, and on top of that it won’t be cheap either. Perhaps you recently bought a Mustang, and you can’t justify another new car purchase so soon. Well my friends, if you absolutely must have a BOSS, there is now another option.
Mustangs Daily came across the Retrobuilt BOSS 302 Mustang Conversion Package for S197 Mustang. This will turn your 2005-2011 Mustang into a modern day classic…for a little more than the cost of a new Mustang GT.
We’ve got to admit that these pictures fooled even us at first. This is a very complete, very natural looking conversion that will turn any 2005+ Mustang into a 1970 BOSS 302 look-alike. Obviously, unless you’ve got the 2011 Mustang GT 5.0, your 4.6 liter V8 engine is missing a few key cubic inches. This conversion kit comes with everything to take you back to the 1970’s looks, while maintaining modern amenities.
Retrobuilt will convert your car using a fiberglass front lid, deck lid, rear valence, and rear tail light conversion. They will also add fiberglass over the metal to the rear quarter panels and a new rear spoiler, as well as those classic window louvers. Of course, a BOSS 302 stripe kit is necessary to complete the look, and a functional shaker hood adds some rumble to your engine bay area. It is all in all a great-looking conversion, and kits start at $32,900 for the fastback option or $33,900 for the convertible…not including the cost of a donor car. If you’ve already got yourself a Mustang though, this might be the right path to take.
