Last fall after SEMA 2014, we featured a car from the Centerforce booth that was a little bit different from most other car builds. Unlike many custom builds that are unique unto themselves, Classic Recreations debuted the Villain Mustang, a made-to-order 1968 Mustang from CR Supercars.
Dubbed “Villain” by CR Supercars, this production 1968 Mustang is custom built on a per-order basis, but it isn’t going to be like most other cars because anybody with the coin can order one and it will be built specifically for them as a brand new car. Villain is the first supercar to come from the custom builder, and it will be followed up by another custom build that can be ordered from the builder, debuting this fall at SEMA.
The CR-1 Camaro will be built on the same manner as Villain in that it’s a production car that can be custom built to a customer’s expectations. In the same manner that you could order your classic musclecar from the dealer with varying options, CR Supercars works on the same principle.
Starting with a beefed up LS7 engine and six-speed Tremec transmission, with a Centerforce DYAD clutch and a Strange rearend to round out the drivetrain. The CR-1 Camaro will have a host of go fast and corner carving goodies under it’s skin. The early F-body will have a Detroit Speed Engineering suspension and Forgeline wheels with Wilwood disc brakes to handle the stopping. Creature comforts will include air conditioning and a killer audio system, and bucket seats.
The first pre-order has already been made and the car will make its debut at the 2015 SEMA show wearing a classic Hugger Orange paint. Each of these vehicles is fully customizable for the customer, including paint and trim options as well as the powertrain. But unlike a restoration or restomod, these cars are all brand new and made to order. Check out the CR Supercars website for more information about Villain and CR-1 Camaro. We’ll be there for the unveiling and bring you a feature on the car this fall.
